Step-by-step breakdown

In this guide, we have given a step-by-step breakdown of the SGAC application process for all foreign visitors.

Part 1- Select your type of application

First thing first, we need to access the official website of Singapore to apply for SG Arrival Card. On the first page, anyone going to Singapore needs to choose from the following options:

  • For Singaporeans, Permanent Residents, and Long-Term Pass Holders
  • For Foreign Visitors, including In-Principle Approval (IPA) Holders

If you are not a Singaporean, Permanent Resident, or Long-Term Pass Holder, you will need to select the option "For Foreign Visitors including In-Principle Approval (IPA) Holders" to navigate to the next page.

Part 2 - guidelines

Anyone planning to go to Singapore has the following option to select from:

  • Individual Submission- In this case, we advise you to submit your arrival information. You can include up to three trips in one submission.
  • Group Submission- When an individual submits Singapore arrival information on behalf of a group, he/she should select this option. In one group submission, arrival information for up to 10 people can be submitted.
  • Update Submission- This option is for anyone who has already submitted arrival information for the upcoming Singapore trip and would further like to update the information.
  • e-Pass Inquiry Portal- This is for those in Singapore who want to retrieve the e-Pass issued.

We advise you to select the "Individual Submission" option to proceed to the next section.

Required documents

We will suggest anyone filling out the SG Arrival Card for Singapore to be ready with the following documents:

  • A valid Passport
  • Travel Itinerary
  • Contact Information
  • Accommodation Details (if required)

While applying, the official platform outlines general guidelines for anyone filling out the form and proxy submission to adhere to while applying for an SG Arrival Card online. The page also directed us to an SG Arrival Card FAQs page in case we needed more information.

pro-tip-1

"You can obtain the arrival card up to three days before your arrival. To ensure you have enough time, it's recommended to get it at least two days before your travel."

Part 3- Particulars of card

The first line of this section notified us that the Singapore SG Arrival Card is also available on a mobile application. Only your details for the trip to Singapore need to be filled in this section. If you are considered a Long-Term Pass Holder, you will be directed to a new page.

It took us approximately five to seven minutes to complete the SG Arrival Card application. We want to point out that red asterisks mark the mandatory fields on the first page.

The first field is "Personal Information," the button next to it mentions "Retrieve with Visa Reference Number."

On researching, we found out that this option is for applicants who have already applied for SGAC but need to fetch their details. In such cases, you will need to fill in the following fields to apply for SGAC:

  • Full Name as mentioned in your passport
  • Passport Number
  • Date of Birth in dd/mm/yyyy format.
  • Citizenship/ Nationality- there is a drop-down Menu to select the options.

After filling in all the above options, you can click the "Confirm" button and move to the next page. As per our observation, all the above options are mandatory because a red asterisk follows each field. At the bottom of the page is a disclaimer directing you to learn more about the SG Arrival Card service for Singapore.

We suggest clicking on the video guide or "Frequently Asked Questions" options for clarity.

As this was a straightforward form, we can safely say you will not need to refer to the FAQs or video guide. However, if anyone still faces difficulty, the page has a hyperlink "here" where you can share the screenshot of the error message (if available).

In our case, while applying for Singapore SGAC, we had to mention whether we were using the mobile app or web service to apply.

On clicking "Confirm," there was a disclaimer to ensure that the information we had filled out was correct. If we had not done so, we would have had to restart the entire submission and restart the process by filling in relevant fields. Further, we had the option to select "cancel" or "continue." After clicking "Continue," we were able to navigate to the next page.

Part 4- Additional details

The next segment displays the information we had previously filled in Part 3 and additional fields. Again, this segment, too, has a "Reset" button where we had the option to make changes in the previously filled section if there was any error.

We were required to fill in the following fields:

  • Sex: Male or Female
  • Date of Passport Expiry
  • Country/ Place of Birth
  • Place of Residence - a drop-down Menu will factor in the state and city along with the country name.
  • Email Address- This field is followed by a disclaimer that if you are eligible to enter Singapore, you will receive an electronic visit pass in place of inked passport stamps. Therefore, we advise filling in a valid email address as an SG Arrival card for Singapore will be sent to the email mentioned. As per the portal settings, the email address will appear in uppercase for clarity.
  • Confirm the email address- This field is filled automatically.
  • Country/ Region Code followed by Mobile Number
  • Confirm both Country/Region Code followed by Mobile Number (this field needs to be filled as it does not get filled automatically like the confirm email id section.)

Finally, we had to click the "Confirm" button to go to the next page.

All the above fields of the online SGAC application will be marked in red asterisks, so it is compulsory to fill all the sections. Please note this page and the same disclaimer to navigate to FAQs or video guides for SGAC in the event of any challenges the applicant faces.

If you are still facing problems, you can also share a screenshot of the error message and indicate whether you used web or mobile service for Singapore SG Arrival Card.

Part 5-Trip information

Individuals applying for SG Arrival Card can add up to three trips for themselves in this submission. Remember, the trip must be within three days, including the date of submission. In our case, we had to complete the following sections:

  • Date of Arrival in Singapore (dd/mm/yyyy) format
  • Mode of travel - Air, Land, or Sea

It was followed by the same disclaimer related to FAQs, video guides, and sharing of error messages in screenshots while indicating the use of web or mobile applications.

After we click on "Confirm," there will be a message stating that the applicant will need to restart the trip information submission if you need to edit the date of arrival and mode of travel filled in this section to proceed. In other words, anyone filling out the form must re-check the information submitted as the option to "cancel" or "continue" still exists till this point.

The information was correct in our case so we could proceed to the next section.

Part 6- Mode of travel, accommodation, and health declaration

The first part of this page gives a snapshot of all the details filled in the previous section. In the left-hand corner, the trip date will be displayed. Till now, we can still click the "reset" button to make any changes. Please note the option chosen to fill the current SGAC form was "Air" ( not "Land" or "Sea"), so the rest of the field provides the options related to what option we chose while filling out the form. To complete the SGAC, we had to fill in the following fields:

  • Mode of Travel: There are two options "Commercial Flight" and "Private/ Cargo Airline/Other."
  • Flight Code: There are a few options to choose from in the drop-down menu
  • Flight Number:We had to share our flight number
  • Type of Accommodation: We had the following choices- "Hotel," "Residential," and "Others." We chose the "Hotel" option.
  • Name of the Hotel: Unlike us, if you cannot find the hotel name in the drop-down menu, you can choose "Others" and use keys manually to fill in the option.
  • Last City/ Port of Embarkation before Singapore.
  • Next city/ Port of Disembarkation after Singapore: Please note holders of in-principal approval (IPA) letter when applying for Long Term Pass can choose "Same as last city" if there is no information on the next city/ port of disembarkation after Singapore during SGAC submission.
  • Date of Departure from Singapore (dd/mm/yyyy format)

The next section on the same page is called "Others." It’s a "Yes" or "No" question to declare if you have ever used a different name to enter Singapore. If the answer is "Yes," you will need to fill in the next field and mention the different Name from the current passport.

As we have never used any other name to enter Singapore or any other country, we could skip this step by clicking "No."

info health

Health declaration

In this segment, we had to answer the question in "Yes" or "No" format if we had a fever, vomiting, headache, or shortness of breath. In our case, the answer was "No." For applicants, if the answer is "Yes," the next question will be if any of you have visited Latin America (countries listed below the question), the Middle East, or Africa in the past fourteen days before arrival in Singapore. Again, there is a "Yes" or "No" option.

The name of the Latin American countries mentioned on the Singapore SGAC form Health Declaration section are as follows:

  • Argentina
  • Bolivia
  • Brazil
  • Colombia
  • Ecuador
  • French Guiana
  • Guyana
  • Panama
  • Paraguay
  • Peru
  • Suriname
  • Trinidad and Tobago
  • Venezuela

If the answer to the initial question is "No," the next question prompted us if we had visited any of the listed African or Latin American countries in the past six days before the visit to Singapore. Like before, we can choose a "Yes" or "No" to indicate their answer.

The SGAC form gave us the option to add a trip. If you click on this accidentally, don’t worry; you can delete the added trip. All fields are marked in red asterisks, followed by a standard disclaimer.

In our case, the answer to the question was "No," and we could easily navigate to the next section.

Part 7- Preview of the form

In the preview section, we get a snapshot of all the information we had filled in on the SGAC form in the "Preview" section. On the form, it is mentioned that the information should be accurate. If we needed to change anything, we could click "Edit" and select "Submit" if it was correct.

Toward the end of the Singapore SG Arrival Card application form, there is a declaration that the information we shared was true, accurate, and complete.

So, for an SGAC form, we had to undertake the responsibility that the information shared was correct.

If there are any new changes, we advise you to submit a new declaration and inform Immigrations and Checkpoints Authority. Anyone planning to visit Singapore also needs to undertake that he/she will update the information if requested by Singaporean authorities.

Remember, if any false, misleading, or incomplete information is given on the SG Arrival Card online platform, you may be held liable for offenses related to such action.

Data sharing consent with other government agencies

While completing the SGAC online application, we had to give consent to the following:

  • Singaporean Government and statutory authorities can verify and obtain information (medical records) from any organization, source, or person to check the authenticity of our declaration.
  • The information we submit, including medical records, can be released to the Government of Singapore, their agents, and the statutory organization.

If you submit the SGAC application on someone else’s behalf, a.k.a. "The principal"

If you are filling out the SGAC form on someone else’s behalf, you need to undertake that the principal is aware of the content of the SG Arrival Card application. The form further states that the principal needs to be aware that he/she may be held liable for any offenses related to the inaccurate, false, or misleading declarations on the digital application for SG Arrival Card.

Hence, you need to be aware that he/she will be held liable for abetment to such offenses. Please note your submission will be regarded as a personal submission made by the principal. In the next line, you will need to put a tick mark against a line that you have read the declaration to proceed to the next page.

You can choose "Edit" to make changes or select "Continue" for the next page. If you click "Continue," there will be a security verification, and the captcha must be entered.

We could skip this part because we had not filled out the information on anyone else’s behalf.

Remember, you’ll need to declare an item on the Red Channel if you carry any item to Singapore on behalf of someone else but do not know what it contains.

Finally, in the last section of the SG Arrival card application webpage, we were informed to refer to the official website to learn about Singapore’s entry requirements and list of prohibited items.

Download and print the SG arrival card

SG Arrival Card is a straightforward application form. We faced no difficulties when applying for it. Moreover, we were able to easily download and print the SG Arrival Card. Remember that we need to have the DE number before arriving in Singapore.

To reiterate, SG Arrival Card is not a visa (so don’t mistake it for one). Additionally, if you are a citizen of a visa-eligible nation, you will require a Singapore visa along with your SGAC.
